I’ve been working on/facilitating a show called FRIENDS, which opened on Wednesday at TCB gallery, here in Melbourne. There are 15 different artists/collectives involved. Since it’s inception, Friends has been a real pleasure. If you’re friends with someone, you’ll work hard for them, you’ll be patient with them. David Capra told me that he thought Friends was about re-valuing the artist. I hope so. It’s not just about sentiment, it’s about trying to build strong networks. Like Tom Melick says, “honest networks hold tremendous potential”. I believe it.
